. Why use Hepa Protect?

Maintaining peak performance requires that the liver and kidneys of the horse operate efficiently. Both these organs metabolize and excrete wastes material and the liver has an enormous task at manufacturing various metabolic enzymes essential to health. So, the liver and kidney cells are the “engines” of the horse. They require specific “fuels” derived from the diet, and their intricate use in the form of nutraceuticals added to the normal equine ration (dietary regime).

. How it works...

CoPa Ireland’s Hepa Protect consists of peanut oil, an antifungal remedy that reduces photosensitivity in the body. Working together with feed additives such as betaine, L-carnitine and Inositol, Hepa Protect will protect and cleanse the liver and kidneys by acting as a liquid toxin binder. Inositol mobilises the fat from liver, carnitine has an additive effect on muscular responses to training which should be favourable to improve athletic performance, and betaine is very important to proper liver function, cellular replication, and detoxification reactions. Betaine plays a role in the manufacture of carnitine and serves to protect the kidneys from damage. In animal studies, betaine supplementation has been shown to protect against chemical damage to the liver.
